recently i've been more serious about painting & hard at work on a plethora of intentional concepts. my spackle supply is very depleted, & lacking funds to get more, i've switched back to using household flour and/or baking soda. both of which provide textures i adore. (though i worry the flour may eventually mold? i'm not sure how long that takes.) i've also been experimenting with using natural dyes to create my colors since it takes a lot of paint to color the flour or spackle mixture. its an interesting challenge that i enjoy but also become easily frustrated by when the colors on canvas to not properly match those in my mind. but its something i'm tampering with and hopefully soon improving upon.

for a while i've debated posting my paintings for fear of harsh criticism as well as the belief that the concepts they represent will fail to be properly conveyed, whether by my fault or by the misrepresentation of the paintings through photos.

so please keep in mind that these are just photographs of my paintings, which is akin to looking at the sheet music of a song & expecting it to fully communicate the effect of hearing that music performed.

i primarily use acrylic paint (natural dyes for specific parts) & my own unique method of application (my fingers) as well as heavy layering. all this combined creates very specific interplay between color & texture on the canvas. unfortunately, this can't be fully realized in the pixels of a photograph on a computer monitor, so for now, this will have to do.
so please be patient, hopefully something is conveyed.
